Agreement

By downloading or using HashCalc Pro ("the app") from the Mac App Store, you agree to these Terms of Service and to Apple's applicable App Store terms (including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement presented at purchase, where applicable). If you do not agree, do not use the app.

License

The app is licensed, not sold, for your personal or internal business use in accordance with Apple's standard Mac App Store licensing. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent technical measures in the app except where applicable law expressly permits.

What the app does

HashCalc is a utility for computing and comparing cryptographic digests on your Mac. You are responsible for how you use it, including selecting files and data you have the right to process and complying with laws and workplace policies that apply to you.

Third-party services

Optional features may communicate with VirusTotal or other services you configure. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party availability, accuracy, or actions.

No professional advice

Hash results, VirusTotal summaries, and similar output are informational only. They are not legal, security, or compliance advice. You remain responsible for decisions you make based on the app's output.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app through the Mac App Store in the twelve months before the claim (or, if greater, the minimum amount required by applicable law).

Changes

We may update these terms or the app. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
